ZIRO: As part of the nationwide two-year-long commemoration (July 2025 – July 2027) honouring the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee, the Department of Art and Culture, Ziro, organised a district-level inter-school essay writing competition hosted at Dani Kunia Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Ziro. The event drew passionate participation from students representing various schools across the district, all coming together to demonstrate academic excellence, national consciousness, and a shared appreciation for Dr. Mukherjee’s monumental contributions to nation-building, education reform, and industrial progress.

Highlighting the importance of this inter-school initiative, District Art & Culture Officer (DACO) Tapi Rimu emphasised that Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee’s life serves as an inspiring benchmark of integrity and intellectual leadership for today's youth. She noted that by uniting students from different institutions, the department aims to foster healthy academic rivalry and collective reflection on Dr. Mukherjee's enduring legacy of unity, service, and patriotic pride.

Following the competition sessions, a panel of senior educators began evaluating the submissions based on depth of thought, originality, and clarity of expression. The excitement surrounding the competition will culminate during the upcoming district-level Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2026, where the official winners will be announced and felicitated with trophies and certificates.

The hosting administration of Dani Kunia GHSS and participating school representatives extended their sincere appreciation to the Department of Art and Culture, Ziro, for organising the inter-school event.
