Yingkiong, Sep 27: Hon’ble Home Minister, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Mama Natung, today inaugurated the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Pittung, Upper Siang district, marking 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s public service and leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Natung highlighted the objective of the campaign to take citizen-centric government services and welfare initiatives closer to people, particularly those living in remote and far-flung areas. He said the initiative seeks to reduce the need for people to travel long distances to access government services by promoting doorstep delivery and greater public outreach.

Recalling the Air Gun Surrender Movement, Shri Natung said the initiative was aimed at bringing a positive change in people’s attitudes towards wildlife conservation. He appreciated the Adi community for embracing the movement and voluntarily giving up the use of air guns for hunting.  He alongwith all dignitaries also participated in tree plantation under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation campaign.

Pani Taram, PS, PHE & WS, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, outlined the activities planned under the month-long campaign (Sept 17-Oct 17), including service-oriented camps, sports and literary programmes. He stressed the importance of preserving indigenous languages and suggested conducting literary activities in local languages wherever possible. He also urged people to address public issues through dialogue with the government and administration.

ZPM, Jengging-2, Shri Orik Tali, and Deputy Commissioner, Upper Siang, Dr. Ashok Tajo, also addressed the gathering. The DC called for active public participation and cooperation for effective implementation of government schemes and programmes.

Representatives from 21 government departments, including banks, participated in the Pittung camp.

A Seva Sankalp Abhiyan camp was also conducted at Mariyang, where Zilla Parishad Member (ZPM), Mariyang, Shri Karsing Pertin, inaugurated the camp. Various government departments extended services and disseminated information on welfare schemes and programmes. Hundreds of people from Mariyang and adjoining areas benefited from the camp. (DIPRO)
