ITANAGAR, Aug 15: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen KT Parnaik, PVSM, UYSM, YSM (Retd.), inaugurated the newly established Chief Minister’s Office and Chief Minister’s Residence at Niti Vihar, Itanagar, on 15th August 2026. The occasion, coinciding with the celebration of India’s 80th Independence Day, marked a significant milestone in the administrative and developmental journey of the State. The First Lady of the State, Smt. Anagha Parnaik, Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu, members of the State Cabinet, legislators, senior government officials, and members of the public attended the inaugural ceremony.

The Governor expressed confidence that the new Chief Minister’s Office would serve as the nerve centre of governance and development in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that the office must become a place where every citizen’s concern receives attention, innovative ideas are encouraged, and policy decisions are shaped with transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

Reposing his faith in Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu and his Council of Ministers, the Governor expressed confidence that they would continue to address emerging challenges with determination and vision. He said that under their leadership, Arunachal Pradesh would further strengthen its role as a strategically important frontier State while advancing towards the shared national goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
