BOMDILA- 8TH AUGUST 2020- Launching of the Weeklong Behavior Change Campaign for “Gandagi Mukt Bharat” was marked by free plantation along the 1.8 km stretch approach road of Guru Tenpai Dronne Lobdra Institute at Labau (Birpur) in West Kameng today.
Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki in presence of Abbot Guru Tulku Rinpoche, Ex-Minister T Thongdok, administrative officers, HODs, members of Shertukpen Community and monks launched the weeklong ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat Campaign’.
DC Karma Leki reiterating on the need for behavioral change in order to make the country ‘Gandagi Mukt’ said that positive thought and deeds would facilitate success of the campaign. It is for us to make the campaign successful, he said. Further, the DC said that the COVID-19 pandemic has taught the people worldwide to maintain hygiene and keep one’s place and surroundings clean.
We should learn from everything that happiness around, he added. Abbot Guru Tulku Rinpoche and EE (PHED) Bomdila also spoke on the necessity and essence of the ‘Gandagi Mukt Bharat’ and appealed all to join hands in order to make it happen.
Collection of segregation of single use plastics in GP level, Shramdan in panchayats, wall paintings, tree plantations, online painting and essay competition, sanitation drives in PHCs and ODF plus declarations of villages in Aan Sabha would mark the Weeklong Behavior Change Campaign.
Earlier, around 350 saplings consisting of Deodar, Chir Pine, Cupressus, Silver Oak and Cryptomeria were planted along the stretches of the approach road leading to the Institute.
